CHICAGO — Prior to today’s series finale vs. Minnesota, the Chicago White Sox placed infielder Jake Burger on the 10-day injured list with a strained left oblique and recalled infielder Lenyn Sosa from Class AAA Charlotte.
Burger suffered the injury last night during a fourth-inning at-bat. He is hitting .224/.312/.612 (15-67) with five doubles, a team-leading seven home runs and 14 RBI in 23 games this season.
Sosa, 23, is hitting .460/.546/.784 (17-37) with six doubles, two home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored in 11 games with Charlotte this season. He also batted .151 (8-53) with one homer, three RBI and three runs scored in 16 games with the White Sox from April 11-30 before being optioned to Charlotte on Tuesday.
