TORONTO – Prior to tonight’s series opener at Toronto, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Lucas Giolito on the Bereavement List and reinstated right-hander Joe Kelly from the 15-day injured list.
Kelly, 34, is 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA (3 ER/2.2 IP), one hold and three strikeouts over three relief appearances this season, his second with the White Sox. He was placed on the injured list on April 10 (retroactive to April 9) with a right groin strain.
Giolito, 28, is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA (14 ER/28.0 IP) and 28 strikeouts over five starts this season. He must remain on the Bereavement List for a minimum of three days and not more than seven.
