Real Salt Lake is unbeaten in its last five visits to FC Dallas (W1 D4) after avoiding defeat just three times in its first 18 visits in all competitions (W1 D2 L15). The only team to go unbeaten in more than five straight MLS matches in Dallas was San Jose Earthquakes from 2003 to 2009 (8 straight – W4 D4).
FC Dallas’ 1-0 win at Inter Miami FC on Saturday ended a run of 14 straight matches (including playoffs) without a clean sheet. FC Dallas had recorded consecutive clean sheets just once since the start of the 2021 season, doing so against Real Salt Lake and the Los Angeles Galaxy last July.
Real Salt Lake came from behind to defeat Charlotte FC, 3-1, on Saturday, ending a four-match losing streak. Both of Real Salt Lake’s wins this season have been in come-from-behind efforts as they’ve conceded the opening goal in all six of their matches in 2023.
Jesus Ferreira scored his 40th career MLS goal in FC Dallas’ 1-0 win over Inter Miami FC with new teammate Jesus Jimenez providing the assist. Jimenez is the 20th different FC Dallas player to provide an assist on a goal for Ferreira in his MLS career.
Jefferson Savarino had a goal and an assist in Real Salt Lake’s 3-1 win over Charlotte FC on Saturday. Since returning to the club last May, Savarino leads Real Salt Lake in goals (8) and assists (8), while his 16 goal contributions re twice as many as any other player in that time (Sergio Cordova, Andrew Brody, – 8 each).
