The Calgary Flames travelled to Vancouver for a matchup with the Canucks on Saturday night. The Canucks would open the scoring 9:03 into the opening frame with Cole McWard giving the Canucks a 1-0 lead. The Canucks would extend their lead later in the period with Elias Petterson netting his 38th to make it 2-0 to the home side through 20. In the second, the Flames would fire 18 shots on goal but couldn’t beat Thatcher Demko and the score remained 2-0 through 40. In the third, the Flames would start a rally first with Elias Lindholm burying his 22nd, followed by Nazem Kadri converting on a Flames powerplay to tie the game at two’s. The game would require overtime, but the extra frame would solve nothing and the Canucks would go on to win in a shootout 3-2.
