Inter Miami FC and FC Dallas have never met before in Florida. In their first two meetings, both in Texas, Dallas came out on top, winning 2-1 in October 2020 and drawing 1-1 in July 2022.
After earning six points in its first two games of the season, Inter Miami FC became the third team in MLS history to lose four straight games. After starting the season with two wins in a row, the only team to lose five games in a row, including one in a breakaway shootout, was the Chicago Fire in 1998.
Through six matches, FC Dallas began the season with two victories, two draws, and two defeats. Dallas has won five of its last 15 MLS matches since late August 2022, which includes the playoffs from the previous season. However, Dallas has also lost five of those matches.
Josef Martinez has started all five of Inter Miami FC’s matches but has not scored. This is the first time in his career that he has gone five MLS starts without scoring. Martinez has scored at least one goal in each of his three career games against FC Dallas.
In Saturday’s 1-1 draw against the Portland Timbers, FC Dallas gave up an equalizer in the first minute of overtime. FC Dallas has lost 12 matches in a row without keeping a clean sheet, the longest streak in MLS history.
