GOLDEN KNIGHTS LAST GAME RECAP
March 23 – Vegas Golden Knights 3, Calgary Flames 2
The Golden Knights (45-21-6) narrowly defeated the Calgary Flames (32-26-15), 3-2, on Thursday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Jonathan Marchessault started things off for the Golden Knights halfway through the first with a top-shelf wrist shot. Less than five minutes later, Michael Amadio put Vegas up, 2-0. Milan Lucic then cut the Golden Knights’ lead in half with one minute remaining in the first. After a scoreless second, Nicolas Roy potted the game-winning goal in his first game back from injury. Nazem Kadri responded making it 3-2, but it was not enough as Vegas secured the victory.

Road Trip Warriors
Vegas’ win in Calgary was the club’s 23rd road win this season, setting a new franchise record. The Golden Knights rank third in the NHL in points (51) and points percentage (.729) when playing on the road (behind New Jersey and Boston). Vegas has won six straight games as the visitor, one shy of the club record set last season (seven straight road wins, 12/3/21 to 1/24/22).

Second Half Success
Vegas’ remains in first place in the NHL standings in points percentage and in total points since the All-Star Break. In 21 games, the Golden Knights boast a 16-3-2 record, and have earned 34 out of the 42 possible points during the stretch. Their 6-1-2 February was just the third month in team history with only one regulation loss (also Jan. 2021, 5-1-1, and Dec. 2017, 11-1-1).

The last time these two teams met, Vegas was unable to rebound from Edmonton’s quick start despite seeing goals from Keegan Kolesar, Paul Cotter and William Karlsson. The Golden Knights couldn’t solve Jack Campbell in the third period as the Oilers skated away with the 4-3 victory. Vegas will look to record their first win of the season over Edmonton as they currently trail the season series 0-1-1.
