FLAMES VERSUS THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS THIS SEASON:
The Calgary Flames and Vegas Golden Knights get set to square off for the fourth and final time this season, with the Flames holding a 2-0-1 record against their Pacific Division opponent. Their first meeting came in October with the Flames erasing an early two-goal deficit to come back and win 3-2 with goals from Elias Lindholm, Tyler Toffoli, and Blake Coleman. In their second meeting, the Flames got goals from Jakob Pelletier, Jonathan Huberdeau and Mikael Backlund. Vegas would be the team to comeback in this game however, as they rallied late with Alex Pietrangelo scoring the overtime winner. In their most recent meeting a week ago, the Flames exercised their T-Mobile Arena demons and won their first game on the road in Vegas with a 7-2 triumph. Mikael Backlund scored for the third-straight game against the Golden Knights, while Blake Coleman and Tyler Toffoli had multi-goal games with Toffoli recording four points on the night. Dillon Dube and MacKenzie Weegar also found the back of the net for the Flames.
QUICK HITS:
Tyler Toffoli recorded three assists on Tuesday in Anaheim for just the second time in his career (Oct. 26, 2014 vs. CBJ) and has now recorded points in four straight games. Andrew Mangiapane scored a slick breakaway finish for his 14th of the season. Every skater on the Flames recorded at least one shot on goal, with all five goals coming from five different skaters. All but three skaters on the Flames were a +1 on Tuesday and Mikael Backlund recorded his 301st and 302nd NHL assists.
