forward Wyatt Johnston (1-0—1) recorded his 19th goal of the season while defensemen Miro Heiskanen (0-1—1) and Ryan Suter
(0-1—1) picked up the assists. This was the third and final game of the regular season between the Stars and Oilers, with Dallas losing
two of them, including a 6-3 defeat Dec. 21, 2022 at American Airlines Center. The Stars on Thursday went 0-for-3 on the power play
and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 26 saves on 29 shots.

TONIGHT’S GAME: The Stars have reached the end of their season-long six-game road trip as they take on the Calgary Flames tonight at Scotiabank Saddledome (9 p.m. CT, TV: Bally Sports Southwest, Radio: The Ticket 96.7-FM/1310-AM). This is third and final meeting of the regular season between the two clubs, and the lone contest held in Calgary. The Stars have dropped the previous two games against the Flames this season – both at American Airlines Center – losing 6-5 on Jan. 4 and 5-4 on March 6

The Calgary Flames finished a brief two-game road trip at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night against the Vegas Golden Knights. It took until the 15:05 mark for either side to break the scoreless deadlock, but MacKenzie Weegar would score his second of the season to give the Flames a 1-0 lead through 20. In the second, Tyler Toffoli would make it 2-0 Flames, before Vegas tied the game with a pair of unanswered goals from Zach Whitecloud and Reilly Smith. Blake Coleman would restore the Flames lead just before the break and the score was 3-2 Calgary through 40. The Flames would put the game to bed in the third with a four-goal final frame which saw Backlund and Dube get on the scoresheet as well as Toffoli and Coleman both notching their second of the game and the Flames left T-Mobile Arena with two points for the first time in their history with a 7-2 win.

This is the third and final matchups this season between the Flames and Stars. The Flames have won the previous two meeting so far, scoring 11 goals in the pair of contests. This is a Pacific Division versus Central Division matchup; The Flames have an overall record of 9-8-3 against Central Division opponents this season and a record of 19-12-6 against Western Conference opponents.
FLAMES VERSUS THE STARS THIS SEASON:
The Flames and Stars get set to face off for the third time this season, with the Flames winning both prior meetings. Their first matchup with Dallas came in January which saw the Flames put up six goals, beginning with Andrew Mangiapane scoring just 25 seconds in. Trevor Lewis, Elias Lindholm, Nazem Kadri, Rasmus Andersson, and Chris Tanev would also find the back of the net to help the Flames edge the Stars 6-5. In their second meeting just under two weeks ago, Tyler Toffoli was the hero for Calgary, scoring at the 19:53 mark of the third period to give the Flames the lead. The goal held up as the third-latest go-ahead goal in franchise history behind a pair of goals at 59:56 by Cory Stillman (April 14th, 1999) and Jarome Iginla (February 12th, 1999). It was also the second-latest go-ahead goal by any player this season behind Ryan Graves (59:58 with NJD on February 14th).
QUICK HITS:
Blake Coleman scored two goals on Thursday, including his second game-winning goal of the season. Troy Stecher dropped the gloves for the first time as a member of the Flames, and just the fifth time of his 427-game career when he fought Vegas’ Paul Cotter. Nick Ritchie had a game-high seven hits in Vegas, while MacKenzie Weegar had six and the Flames out-hit the Golden Knights 37-23. Mikael Backlund’s third period tally now gives him goals in back-to-back games, and he has found the back of the net in three-straight contests against the Golden Knights.
