CAROLINA HURRICANES NOTES:

LAST GAME
The Hurricanes posted a 5-4 overtime win against the San Jose Sharks at PNC Arena on Friday, as Martin Necas became the first player in franchise history to score an overtime goal in back-to-back games. After falling behind 4-2 with 1:52 left in the third period, Carolina scored three unanswered goals to win in overtime, marking just the second time in franchise history that the Whalers/Hurricanes won a game after trailing by multiple goals in the final two minutes of regulation. Necas and Sebastian Aho each scored two goals, as Aho extended his goal streak to three games. Andrei Svechnikov also registered two assists, while Calvin de Haan scored his second goal of the season. Derek Stepan skated in his 100th game with the Hurricanes, and Antti Raanta made 26 saves in net to record his eighth win in nine appearances.
