WHAT TO KNOW
The Devils concluded a two-game homestand (2-0-0), after collecting consecutive overtime wins over Pittsburgh (2-1) and Vegas (3-2). It marked the first time since 2019-20 that the team played in four consecutive games that were decided past regulation (Jan. 27, 2020 to Feb. 4, 1-3 record). Tonight’s victory marked the first time since Dec. 31, 2021, to Jan. 2, 2022, that the Devils won consecutive games in overtime with no games in between that span. The Devils are 14-2-2 vs the Western Conference and 3-2-1 against Central Division opponents this season. The Devils have allowed one goal, or fewer, in a game 11 times this season. Jersey’s team allowed one, or fewer goals against, in a game just eight times all of last season. The Devils are 21-0-1 when leading after the second period this season, which ranks (tied) for the third most in the NHL with Toronto and Florida, per Jan. 25.
