CAROLINA HURRICANES NOTES:

LAST GAME
The Hurricanes earned a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Wild at PNC Arena on Thursday. Jalen Chatfield (1g, 1a), Martin Necas (1g, 1a), Brady Skjei (1g, 1a) and Andrei Svechnikov (2a) each posted two points, as Chatfield posted his first career multi-point game and Necas matched his single-season high in scoring. Brent Burns and Teuvo Teravainen also scored for Carolina, with Teravainen scoring the team’s league-leading fifth shorthanded goal in January. Frederik Andersen made 29 saves in his third start in four games, improving to 3-0-0 since returning from injury.

HURRICANES vs. ISLANDERS SERIES NOTES
— Carolina is facing New York in the third of four meetings between the teams during the 2022-23 season. The Islanders will travel to PNC Arena on 4/2.

— The Hurricanes and Islanders are meeting for the 154th time in their regular-season histories. Carolina holds a 79-54-9-11 overall record, including a 41-25-4-5 road record and a 56-26-0-11 record since relocation.

TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
Tonight, the New York Islanders host the Carolina Hurricanes in the third of four matchups between the two clubs this season. It is the second and final time the Hurricanes will visit UBS Arena in the 2022-23 regular season. These two teams have split their season series so far. The last time they met was December 10 at UBS Arena, when Ilya Sorokin made 26 saves on 29 shots, but the Islanders fell to the Hurricanes in a 3-0 decision. Earlier in the season, the Islanders visited the Hurricanes at PNC Arena in Raleigh, where Mathew Barzal, Anthony Beauvillier and Brock Nelson each recorded multi-point games in a 6-2 victory.
