TONIGHT’S STORYLINES
The Maple Leafs are scheduled to take on the Montréal Canadiens tonight in the second of four matchups between the clubs this season. Toronto lost their first meeting of the 2022-23 campaign against Montréal in a 4-3 decision on October 12 at Centre Bell. The Maple Leafs have posted a 5-3-1 record through the month of January and are currently on a two-game winning streak. The Maple Leafs are heading on the road for one game before returning home for five-consecutive games at Scotiabank Arena. Toronto has posted an 11-8-3 record on the road this season. The NHL announced on Thursday that, through the NHL Fan Vote, Auston Matthews will be joining Mitch Marner at 2023 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend in South Florida. Matthews has posted 51 points (24G, 27A) through 44 games this season. This marks the sixth-consecutive occasion (2017, 2018,
2019, 2020, 2022, 2023) that Matthews has been selected to compete in the NHL All-Star Game.
