The Hurricanes earned a 6-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena on Thursday, ending their winless streak at four games. Sebastian Aho (2a), Seth Jarvis (1g, 1a), Jesperi Kotkaniemi (2a), Brett Pesce (2g) and Jaccob Slavin (1g, 1a) all posted two points, as Pesce registered his first career NHL/Hurricanes multi-goal game. Brent Burns and Jalen Chatfield each also lit the lamp, with Burns earning his 500th career even-strength point and Chatfield scoring his first career shorthanded goal, marking the first time in franchise history that the Hurricanes had four different defensemen score a goal in the same game and the second time that Carolina’s blue line combined for five goals in a single contest. Frederik Andersen also returned to the lineup after missing the previous 29 games due to a lower-body injury, stopping 21 of 23 shots faced in net to record the win.
