JAN. 6, 2023 – ANAHEIM 5 vs. SAN JOSE 4 OT
The Ducks won their second straight game in a 5-4 OT win over the San Jose Sharks Friday night at Honda Center. Anaheim overcame a 2-0 deficit in the win, the club’s league-tying fourth multiple-goal comeback win this season (also CHI and LAK). The Ducks and Sharks wrapped up their four-game season series with Anaheim winning three of the four contests (3-1-0). Mason McTavish recorded 2-2=4 points and has six points (3-3=6) in his last two games. He became the first Ducks player to factor in on three game-tying goals and the game-tying goal. John Klingberg scored the game-winning goal 1:08 into overtime, his first OT goal as a Duck and the seventh of his career (last: Mar. 17, 2022 w/ DAL @ MTL). The goal marked his third GWG of the campaign, tied for third among all NHL defensemen this season. Trevor Zegras scored his 11th goal of the season, and Ryan Strome netted his 10th goal of the year. Troy Terry earned the primary assist on Klingberg’s OT goal, while Adam Henrique, Frank Vatrano, Colton White, Jakob Silfverberg and Simon Benoit also recorded assists. Anthony Stolarz made 37 saves to earn his third win of the campaign.

ANAHEIM DUCKS NOTES
TONIGHT’S GAME: The Anaheim Ducks hit the midway point of the 2022-23 season with their 41st contest as they continue a franchise record 10-game homestand tonight vs. the Boston Bruins at Honda Center (5:30 p.m. PT, TV: Bally Sports SoCal AUDIO: Ducks Stream). Anaheim enters tonight’s game with back-to-back wins (2-0-0), and points in four of the last six contests overall (3-2-1) and six of its last 11 (5-4-1). The Ducks enter tonight’s contest having killed 18 of the last 19 penalties (94.7%) dating to Dec. 21 (spanning seven games), while also killing all opposition power plays in five of the last six contests (17-of-18, 94.4%).
