CALGARY FLAMES NOTES:

FLAMES LAST GAME RECAP
JANUARY 6, 2023 – CALGARY FLAMES [4] vs. NEW YORK ISLANDERS [1]
The Calgary Flames welcomed the New York Islanders to the Scotiabank Saddledome for a Friday night clash. The Flames peppered the Islanders early and just 4:36 in Milan Lucic scored his third on the season to break the ice for Calgary. Just under two minutes later, Blake Coleman scored in his second straight home game to double the Flames advantage before Nikita Zadorov got into the scoring act with a blast from the point to make it 3-0 Calgary. Zach Parise would get one back for the Islanders, but through a busy opening 20 the Flames led 3-1. Calgary would outshoot New York in the second 9-8 but neither team could find the back of the net so there was no change to the score through two periods of play. The lone goal of the final frame came off the stick of Nazem Kadri who picked his spot and sniped home his 15th on the campaign from a tight angle, and the Flames All-Star would make it 4-1 and that is the way things would end.
