LAST GAME
The Hurricanes suffered a 5-3 loss against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, ending their 17-game point streak, 11-game win streak and 12-game road point streak. Brent Burns, Jalen Chatfield and Martin Necas each scored a goal for Carolina, as Burns and Necas extended their point streaks to four games and six games, respectively. Paul Stastny registered two assists for his first multi-point game of the season, while Pyotr Kochetkov made 26 saves in net, suffering the first road regulation loss of his NHL/Hurricanes career.

HURRICANES vs. PREDATORS SERIES NOTES
— Carolina is facing Nashville in the first of two meetings between the teams during the 2022-23 season. The Hurricanes will travel to Bridgestone Arena on 4/6.
— The Hurricanes and Predators are meeting for the 42nd time in their regular-season histories. Carolina holds a 23-14-1-3 overall record, including a 14-3-1-3 home record.
— Carolina swept the regular-season series 2-0-0 in 2021-22 (Nashville: 0-2-0), and the Hurricanes are 15-3-0 in the teams’ last 18 matchups dating back to 2016-17.
— The Hurricanes posted a 3-2 win over the Predators at Bridgestone Arena on 10/17/21. Jesper Fast, Andrei Svechnikov and Teuvo Teravainen each scored for Carolina, and Brett Pesce added two assists as Frederik Andersen stopped 38 of 40 shots in net.

— Nino Niederreiter was acquired from MIN in exchange for Victor Rask on 1/17/19 and posted 137 points (69g, 68a) in 234 games with the Hurricanes from 2019-22.
— Predators Assistant Coach Todd Richards played for the Whalers from 1990-92, registering four assists in eight NHL games with Hartford. Acquired from the Canadiens on 10/11/90 in exchange for future considerations, Richards also tallied 10 points (2g, 8a) in 14 AHL playoff games as the Springfield Indians won the Calder Cup in 1991.
