TONIGHT’S OPPONENT
The Sharks dropped a disappointing 3-4 overtime decision to the Philadelphia Flyers and look to rebound in what will be their last game of the 2022 calendar year. The Sharks are playing the first leg of a road back-to-back, with a game in Chicago on Jan. 1 to kick off the new year. San Jose is playing in Dallas for the second time this season, with the club taking a close 5-4 win against the Stars at American Airlines Center on Nov. 11. Four different players (Alexander Barabanov, Logan Couture, Tomas Hertl & Timo Meier) recorded multi-point games in that contest, with Hertl’s assist on the Sharks first goal of the game marking his 400th NHL point. The victory was Head Coach David Quinn’s 100th NHL win. Dallas is 2-0-0 coming out of the Holiday break and has earned points in seven of its last eight contests (6-1-1). California native Jason Robertson has cemented himself as an NHL superstar with 52 points in 37 games this season. Robertson registered a Stars-record 18-game point streak earlier this season (DAL/MNS franchise record is 20 games from Brian Bellows), and the forward has at least one point in 30 of the 37 games he has played this season. Stars netminder Jake Oettinger has 16 wins this season, which is tied for the fourth-most in the NHL.

Seguin opened the scoring at the 7:13 mark of the first period with a power-play goal with assists from defenseman Ryan Suter (0-1—1) and rookie forward Wyatt Johnston (1-1—2).
