LAST GAME: Dec. 29, 3-2 OT win at Washington: DeBrincat tallied his third multi-goal game of the season including the overtime game-winner as Ottawa earned a 4-3 victory at Capital One Arena. The markers extended DeBrincat’s goal streak to three consecutive games while the extra session goal was his 10th career overtime tally, the second most in the league since 2017-18. Sanderson and Stützle also scored for the Senators while Giroux provided two assists. Batherson had one helper to extend his point streak to 12 games, becoming the third skater in team history to have a streak of as many games. Ovechkin, Strome and Kuznetsov replied for the home side. In his 400th career regular season start, Talbot turned aside 22 shots to earn the win for Ottawa while Kuemper made 41 saves to take the loss for Washington.
