HUGHES’ HELPING HANDS
• Collecting two assists on Nov. 21 vs VGK, Quinn Hughes passed Sami Salo for sole possession of 9th place on the Canucks all-time assists list among defencemen (164) in 346 fewer games played.

• Picking up a power play assist to extend his personal assist streak to 10 games (0-13-13) on Nov. 13 at BOS, Hughes passed Jiri Bubla (1983.84) for the second-longest assist streak by a defenceman in Canucks history. He is only one of two Canuck defencemen to ever hit a double-digit streak, being one game short of tying Dennis Kearns for the franchise record (11 games in 1976.77).

BO’S BLAZING START
Scoring his team-leading 16th goal on Nov. 23 at VGK, Bo Horvat became the four player (fifth instance) in Canucks history to notch as many goals in the team’s first 20 games of the season.

• Scoring his sixth power play goal of the season, Horvat surpassed Ryan Kesler and Henrik Sedin for 9th most power play goals in franchise history (62).

• Tallying eight goals in five games (Oct. 28-Nov. 8), Horvat tied Mikael Samuelsson (2009.10) and Alexandre Burrows (2009.10) as the only Canucks to do so in the last 26 years.

• Horvat is also the first player in franchise history to have five multi-goal games in the first 13 games.

• With 30 goals in 38 games since March 9, 2022, Horvat has the highest goals per game (0.79) in the League during that stretch (minimum 5 GP).

HARD HITTING SCHENN
Matching his personal career-high and the Canucks franchise-high (set by himself) with 12 hits on Nov. 12 at TOR, Luke Schenn became the first player in NHL history to record at least three games with 12+ hits in his career. With 2,926 career hits, Schenn is only 20 hits away from tying Brooks Orpik (2,946) for most in League-history by a defencemen. Schenn has collected the most hits in the NHL this season (86 in 20 GP).

GOLDEN KNIGHTS LAST GAME RECAP
November 25 – Vegas Golden Knights 2, Seattle Kraken 4
The Vegas Golden Knights (16-5-1) were set back by the Seattle Kraken (12-5-3) in a 4-2 loss on Firday night at T-Mobile Arena. Seattle got the scoring started early as Ryan Donato found the back of the net at 2:38 of the opening period. Adrei Burakovsky added to the lead, but Nicolas Roy and Phil Kessel scored less than two minutes apart to knot the game at 2-2. The Kraken took over the second period as Burakovsky and Jordan Eberle potted a goal apiece to put the visitors up, 4-2. Seattle kept Vegas off the scoresheet in the third period and escaped with the two-goal win.

Martinez Block Party
Golden Knights defenseman Alec Martinez leads the NHL with 98 blocked shots in 22 games this season. Martinez has led the team in blocked shots in 16 of 22 games. After snapping his 114-game streak with a blocked shot on Wednesday, Martinez recorded 7 blocked shots in the first period on Friday against Seattle. Martinez also recently recorded a season high of nine blocked shots against the San Jose Sharks on November 15, matching his career high and the franchise record, which he shares with Deryk Engelland.

Aye-Aye Captain!
Captain Mark Stone matched his career-best goal streak with tallies in four straight games (5G-1A) Stone’s nine goals on the year are two off Jack Eichel’s team lead and he is fourth on the team in scoring with 18 points.

Jack of all Trades
Jack Eichel has points in 12 of the last 14 games for Vegas (8G-11A), including consecutive multiple-point efforts in two of the last three games. His 26 point rank tied for 11th in the league and his +16 rating is tops among all NHL forwards (fourth overall).

Where there’s a Will there’s a Way
William Carrier followed the first mulyi-goal game of his career on Monday in Vancouver with another goal Wednesday, giving him four in the last five games. The forward, who had a career-best nine goals last season, has seven through 20 games this year.

O from the D
Vegas defensemen have accoubted for an NHL-leading 49 assists and 57 points total, which trails only San Jose. Both Alex Pietrangelo (T-4th, 21 points) and Shea Theodore (T-15th, 16 points) are aong the top 20 defensemen in scoring league-wide.

Back-to-Back
Vegas is playing home games on consecutive days for the sixth time in franchise history, entering tonight’s game with a 6-2-3 mark in the previous games, The Golden Knights last hosted games on back-to-back days May 7-8, 2021, both against the St. Louis Blues (4-3 OT win, 4-1 win).

The Shorty King
Reilly Smith netted his third shorthanded goal of the season against St. Louis on November 12. Smith leads the league with his three shorties and Vegas is tied for first as the team with the most short handed goals this season with four. His 11 shorthanded goals since joining Vegas in 2017-18 are the most in franchise history.

Alex Pietrangelo has four three-point games this season and is tied for fourth among league defensemen with 21 points. The team’s ice time leader at 23:33 per game, Pietrangelo has 15 points in the last 12 games (3G, 12A).

Easy Steph-y
Chandler Stephenson has 19 points in Vegas’ 22 games, to go with three game-winning goals. Stephenson’s 63.1 faceoff win percentage ranks third in the NHL among all qualified skaters. Stephenson has recorded a point in five straight games twice this season including seven assists during his most recent point streak.

Road Trip Warriors
The VGK road record improved to 9-1-1 on Monday night, the best road record in the NHL. 19 of Vegas’ 31 points have come on the road, including the 10 straight points the Golden Knights brought home after going 5-0-0 as the visiting team earlier this month. With their ninth win on enemy ice coming in Vancouver, Vegas is now 15-4-1 in 20 games overall, matching the the 2020-21 season for the best start in franchise history.

Spreading the Wealth
Nine Golden Knights have recorded 10 or more points this season, tied with four other teams for the most of any team in the league. Jack Eichel leads the club with 26 points, followed by Alex Pietrangleo with 21 points and Chandler Stephenson with 19 points.

Stingy Knights
The Golden Knights’ goaltender tandem of Logan Thompson and Adin Hill is one of the best in the NHL, as Vegas is third in team defense, allowing just 2.46 goals per game. Thompson and Hill’s combined save percentage of .917 is fourth in the league. Last season, the Golden Knights ranked 15th in the league in team defense (2.98 goals allowed per game). Thompson, who has won three straight starts, is second in the league in wins (11) behind Boston’s Linus Ullmark (13). When Thomspon improved to 10-3-0 on Monday, he tied the franchise record for least amount of games played to reach 10 wins. Marc-Andre Fleury (10-3-0) and Robin Lehner (10-1-2) both reached 10 wins in 13 games during the 2020-21 season. Hill’s record dropped to 5-2-1 on Friday night against Seattle. Hill stopped 24 of 28 shots on the night, posting a .857 save percentage.

Against the Canucks
Vegas’ contest with Vancouver marks the second of three meetings this season. The Golden Knights own an overall record of 11-1-3 against the Canucks. The Golden Knights recently visited Rogers Arena on Monday where they overcame a two-goal deficit in the third period to defeat the Canucks 5-4. Vegas saw scoring from William Carrier (2), Mark Stone, Reilly Smith, and Alex Pietrangelo; Jack Eichel and Alec Martinez also each had a pair of assist. Jonathan Marchessault holds the most points in the least amount of games played against the Canucks posting 18 points (9G, 9A) in 16 contests. Phil Kessel owns 20 points in 24 match-ups and Alex Pietrangelo has 21 points in 35 games played (7G, 14A).
