LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers extended qualifying offers to All-Star shortstop Trea Turner and All-Star left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson.
Turner, 29, played a team-best 160 games, hitting .298 (194-for-652) with 21 homers, 101 runs scored, 100 RBI and 27 stolen bases. He notched his third 100+ run season while tallying his first ever 100+ RBI campaign. The Palm Beach, FL native led all National League shortstops in hits (194), runs (101), batting average (.298), OBP (.343), SLG (.466), OPS (.809), doubles (39), total bases (304), extra-base hits (64) steals (27), while ranking second in RBI (100) and fourth in homers (21). In his Major League career, he is a .302 hitter with 124 homers, 230 stolen bases and 434 RBI in 849 career games.
Anderson, 32, made 30 appearances (28 starts) for the Dodgers this season, going 15-5 with a 2.57 ERA (51 ER/178.2 IP) and 138 strikeouts against 34 walks. He was a National League All-Star after finishing the first half with a 10-1 mark with a 2.96 ERA (32 ER/97.1 IP) and 81 strikeouts in 17 games. On the campaign, he was amongst the National League leaders in ERA (5th), wins (T-5th), starts (T-18th), innings (16th), batting average against (.221, 8th), WHIP (1.00, 7th) and winning percentage (.750, 2nd). In his Major League career, he is a combined 44-43 with a 4.16 ERA (371 ER/802.1 IP) and 680 strikeouts.
