THE CAPTAIN
− Roman Josi has six points (2g-4a) in his last five games after scoring a power-play goal on Thursday at Calgary.

− He scored his first goal and notched his first multi-point (1g-2a) outing of the season on Oct. 27 vs. St. Louis. It was his 25th career three-point game, trailing only Erik Karlsson and Victor Hedman for the most such performances among NHL defensemen since his debut season in 2011-12. Josi led all NHL blueliners in three-point games last season (12) en route to being a finalist for the Norris Trophy and Ted Lindsay Award.

− Josi is second among NHL defensemen in shots on goal (50) and is 12th in average TOI (24:41).

NUMBER NINE
− Filip Forsberg moved into a tie for third place with Martin Erat on the Predators’ all-time points list with his 481st on Thursday at Calgary.

− He leads Nashville in points with 12 (4g-8a) after recording his third multi-point outing in his last five games against the Flames (1g-1a).

− Forsberg has nine points (2g-7a) in his last six games dating back to Oct. 22 vs. Philadelphia. He’s recorded two three-point games in that time frame – Oct. 27 vs. St. Louis (3a) and Nov. 1 at Edmonton (1g-2a).

− Nov. 1 at Edmonton was Forsberg’s 32nd career three-point game, the most in Predators history.

GRANNY APPLES
− Mikael Granlund has opened 2022-23 with nine assists and 10 points in his first 12 games.

− It was the 10th instance of a player in franchise history recording at least eight assists in the team’s first 10 games of a season. The last to do so was Roman Josi in 2021-22 (8a).

NASHVILLE PREDATORS GAME NOTES
Nov. 8, 2022 at Seattle Kraken
− Granlund recorded a career-high 53 assists last season, also the second-most on the Predators. His 53 assists were the most by a center and the third-most overall in a season in Predators history.

EL NINO
− Nino Niederreiter, who signed as a free agent with Nashville in July, has six goals and eight points in his first 12 games with the Predators to begin 2022-23.

− He’s scored twice in his last three games.

− Two of his five goals have been on the power play, with the most recent coming on Nov. 1 at Edmonton. Niederreiter has scored at least one goal on the man advantage in each of his last 10 seasons.

− He found the back of the net three times in Nashville’s two games against San Jose in Prague, including twice in the second half of the back-to-back.

− Niederreiter became the second player in franchise history to score three or more goals through his first two career games with the Predators, joining Steve Sullivan (4g in 2004). He also became the fourth player in team history to score at least one goal in each of his first two career games with Nashville and the first since Luke Kunin in 2020-21.

− Predators defensemen have taken 276 shot attempts, tied for the third-most among all NHL teams.

• The Kraken return to Climate Pledge Arena after going a perfect three-for-three on the team’s most recent road trip, defeating the Calgary Flames on Nov. 1, the Minnesota Wild on Nov. 3 and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 5. It marked the first time in franchise history that the team won three consecutive road games.

• The team won all three games in regulation and outscored its opponents 12-6 during the three-game trip.

• Martin Jones earned his first shutout as a member of the Kraken on Nov. 3 at Minnesota, stopping all 22 shots he faced in an eventual 4-0 Seattle win.

• Yanni Gourde led the team in scoring during the road trip, totaling five points (two goals, three assists) over the course of three games.

WINNING WAYS
• Entering play Monday, the Kraken ranked second in the Pacific Division with 16 points in 13 games played. They trailed only the Vegas Golden Knights (22 points) for the division lead.

• Seattle owns a 7-4-2 record this season with their six wins coming against the Buffalo Sabres, Calgary Flames, Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings, Minnesota Wild and Pittsburgh Penguins (2). • According to Evolving Hockey, Jones has saved 3.34 goals above expected at five-on-five during that span, which ranked seventh in the NHL entering play Monday.

• A win tonight would give Jones wins in four consecutive games for the first time since March 29 to April 3, 2021 while he was playing for the San Jose Sharks.

• Entering play Monday, Jones’ six wins were tied for the second-most in the NHL this season.

KILLING IT
• The Kraken have gone a perfect 11-for-11 on the penalty kill dating back to Oct. 29 vs. Pittsburgh. Entering play Monday, the Kraken were one of two teams (Winnipeg) to post a 100 percent success rate on the penalty kill since Oct. 29.

• Yanni Gourde scored a shorthanded goal on Nov. 1 at Calgary, his first goal of the season. The goal gives the Kraken a plus1 goal differential on the penalty kill dating back to Oct. 29, which was tied with Winnipeg for the league lead entering play Monday.

• If the Kraken remain perfect on the penalty kill tonight, it would mark the first time in franchise history that the team did not allow a power-play goal for five consecutive games.

VIEWS FROM THE SIX
• The Kraken have had six defensemen dress in a game for them this season – Will Borgen, Vince Dunn, Adam Larsson, Jamie Oleksiak, Justin Schultz and Carson Soucy. Seattle is the only team this season to have the same six defensemen play in every game.

• The Kraken have begun each game this season with the same defensive pairs: Vince Dunn and Adam Larsson, Jamie Oleksiak and Justin Schutlz, and Carson Soucy and Will Borgen. Entering play Monday, the Kraken and the Vegas Golden Knights were the only two teams in the league to have three defensive pairs that have played at least 130 minutes together at five-on-five according to Natural Stat Trick.

• Each of the six blueliners have recorded at least three points this season, with Vince Dunn leading the team’s defensemen with eight points (two goals, six assists). Entering play Monday, the Kraken were one of five teams (Los Angeles, Ottawa, San Jose, Tampa Bay) to have every defenseman that has played in a game for them record at least one point.

• Carson Soucy scored his first goal of the season in the Kraken’s game on Nov. 1 at Calgary, making the Kraken the first team this season to have six different defensemen score a goal. The goal also made Seattle the only team to have every blueliner that has dressed in a game score a goal entering play Monday.

• Entering play Monday, only the San Jose Sharks (12) and Florida Panthers (10) have had more goals come from defensemen than the Kraken’s nine.

SPREADING THE WEALTH
• Carson Soucy and Yanni Gourde each scored their first goals of the season in Seattle’s game on Nov. 1 at Calgary. The Kraken now have had 19 different players score a goal this season, which led the NHL entering play Monday.

• Every player that has played in a game for the Kraken this season has tallied at least one point. Entering play Monday, the Kraken were the only team in the league to have every skater that has dressed in a game find the scoresheet.

• The Kraken have scored 45 goals this season, which was the seventh-most in the NHL entering play Monday. Their 30 five-on-five goals were tied for fifth in the league.

FOUR’S COMPANY
• The Seattle Kraken will forgo naming a captain for the 2022-23 season and have named four alternate captains as part of this year’s leadership group: Jordan Eberle, Yanni Gourde, Adam Larsson and Jaden Schwartz.

• This season will mark the second-consecutive year that all four of Eberle, Gourde, Larsson and Schwartz will wear a letter for the Kraken.

• Prior to joining the Kraken, Eberle previously served as an alternate captain for the Edmonton Oilers for five seasons (2012-13 to 2016-17). Larsson also wore an “A” for Edmonton after Eberle’s departure – from 2017-18 to 2020-21.

• Eberle leads all Kraken players in career games played (871), goals (263), assists (340) and points (603).

• Schwartz was an alternate captain for the St. Louis Blues for three seasons (2017-18 to 2019-20) and was a part of the team’s leadership group when they won the 2019 Stanley Cup.
