RECAP/NOTES: The Rangers opened this homestand with a 1-0 victory in overtime on the stick of Chris Kreider, the first time since March 6, 2017 against Tampa Bay that the Rangers won a 1-0 game in which their lone goal came in overtime and only the 10th time in team history. New York outshot the Flyers 36-19 in the game, including 14-4 in the second period and 6-0 in the extra session. In the win, Julien Gauthier skated in his 100th career NHL game.

RANGERS RUNDOWN

MIKA ON A MISSION
Mika Zibanejad notched an assist on Chris Kreider’s game-winner on Tuesday night, giving him six goals and seven assists for 13 points this season. Zibanejad’s 13 points have been spread across six games this season, all six in which the Rangers have earned their victories. Zibanejad has points in three-straight games (2G-3A). Zibanejad has five of his six goals on the power play and is tied for the second most PPGs in the NHL. Zibanejad’s 12 points in the month of October were the second most he has recorded in the month over his career (13 in 2018-19).

Igor Shesterkin has earned a point in each of his eight starts (6-0-2) this season. His point-streak of eight games is the second longest to start a season by a Rangers goaltender and longest since Gilles Villemure in 1971-72. Shesterkin’s six wins are the second most in the NHL (Ullmark – 7).

On Tuesday night against the Flyers, he posted his first shutout of the season and ninth of his career. Since he entered the NHL in 2020-21, only three netminders have more shutouts: Jacob Markstrom (12), Ilya Sorokin (11) and Marc-Andre Fleury (10).

PANARIN’S POINTS
Artemi Panarin celebrated his 31st birthday on Sunday with his third game of the season with three or more points. Panarin’s 16 points (5G-11A) rank tied for fourth in the NHL while his 11 assists are tied for the third-most in the league. Through 10 games, Panarin’s had points in eight of them and his point total was the most through 10 games by a Ranger since Jaromir Jagr (18 in 2006-07). Panarin’s 56 three-point contests since 2016-17 ranks third in the NHL and his 103 multi-point games since 2018-19 are tied for the fourth most in the NHL in that span.

KREIDING HIGH
Chris Kreider netted the lone goal in Tuesday’s win over Philly for his fourth goal of the season and second career overtime tally (Feb. 2, 2017 at BUF). Kreider’s goal was his 35th career game-winning goal, tying Steve Vickers for the eighth most game-winning goals in franchise history. Kreider has points in three-straight contests (2G-2A).

Adam Fox has seven points (1G-6A) in his last eight games.
