THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
• Tonight’s matchup with the Flames is the Kraken’s first regular-season game in Canada this season. The team will play a total of nine games in the Great White North this season – tonight in Calgary, twice in Edmonton and Vancouver, and once in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Winnipeg. o There are 13 players on the Kraken’s active roster (not including goaltender Chris Driedger) that hail from Canada, but only one is from Alberta – Viking native Carson Soucy. Kraken head coach Dave Hakstol is also Albertan, originally born in Drayton Valley, which is approximately 305 kilometers (190 miles) away from Calgary.

Prior to this current run, the Kraken had never scored at least three goals in more than five consecutive games.
• Entering play Monday, the Kraken owned the seventh-best power play in the league, converting on 10 of 37 opportunities this season (27.0 percent). o Their 10 power-play goals trailed only Edmonton and Colorado (11 each) for the league lead entering play Monday.
• According to Natural Stat Trick, when Oliver Bjorkstrand is on the ice during five-on-five play, the Kraken are outshooting their opponents 84-60 and have 77 scoring chances to their opponents’ 66. His 60.3 percent Corsi rating ranks second to only Alex Wennberg (60.9 percent) for the team lead.
• Jamie Oleksiak’s 32 hits this season were tied for ninth in the league lead entering play Monday. Entering play Monday, Oleksiak and New York’s Jacob Trouba were the only two players in the league to have at least 30 hits and 15 blocked shots.
• Yanni Gourde has eight points (three goals, five assists) in his last eight games against Calgary.
