The Flyers visit the Rangers in its sole meeting at Madison Square Garden this season. Philadelphia will host the second and third meetings at Wells Fargo Center on Dec. 17 and March 1.   • Tuesday’s game marks the Flyers’ first of nine road games this month – the most road games in a single month this season.
  • Philadelphia will play 15 contests this month, its most in a month this season and the ninth time in franchise history the Flyers will play 15-plus games in the month of November:

HOT START

  • Philadelphia enters Tuesday’s contest 5-2-1 on the season, ranking T-2nd in the Metropolitan Division in wins and T-3rd in points.
  • The Flyers opened the 2022-23 season 3-0-0 for the first time since 2011-12.
  • Per NHL Stats, Philadelphia’s three straight comeback wins from Oct. 15-18 was the third time in franchise history the Flyers have posted comeback wins in the first three games of a campaign following 1988-89 (three games) and 1982-83 (three games).
  • Philadelphia has allowed the opposing team to score first in seven of its eight games this season but leads the NHL with four wins when trailing first in a game.
  • The Flyers have outscored their opponents, 24-21, this season. Philadelphia ranks T-3rd in the League in fewest goals against and fifth in fewest goals against per game (2.63).

WHOLE LOT OF HART

  • Carter Hart stopped 34-of-38 shots through overtime Saturday to extend his point streak to six games (5-0-1).
  • He ranks T-2nd among NHL goaltenders in wins, seventh in SV% (.938) and 11th in GAA (2.31).
  • He made a career-high 48 shots and tied his career high with 51 shots faced vs. FLA on Oct. 27.
  • He recorded a career-high season-opening five-game win streak.
  • Per NHL Stats, he became the seventh goaltender in Flyers history to win each of his first five games of a season and first since Ron Hextall (5-0-0 in 1995-96). The longest such stretch in franchise history is eight straight games, achieved by Dominic Roussel (1993-94) and Bob Froese (1982-83).
  • The 24-year-old’s 48 saves tied for the eighth-most by a Flyers goaltender while his 51 shots faced T-10th. Per NHL Stats, his 48 saves mark the highest single game save total by a Flyers goaltender since Steve Mason on March 22, 2016 (51 at CBJ).
  • Three of his six contests this season have seen 37-plus shots against, and he is 16-2-2 in his career when making 36-plus saves.
  • Outside of Philadelphia, he only has two NHL teams he has not earned a win against: Colorado and St. Louis.

800 FOR BRAUN

  • Justin Braun is expected to skate in his 800th NHL game Tuesday.
  • He will become the 58th skater (21st defenseman) to appear in 800-plus games since entering the NHL in 2010.
  • The Minneapolis native will become the 24th Minnesota-born skater (13th defenseman) to reach 800 games in NHL history.
  • The 35-year-old owns 197 career points (34-163=197) in 13 NHL seasons, including 41 points (9-32=41) in four seasons with Philadelphia (2019-22).

BACK-TO-BACKS

  • Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s games this week mark the Flyers’ third back-to-back set of 15 this season.
  • The set marks the second of four road back-to-backs this season:
  1. Oct. 18 at TBL (3-2 W); Oct. 19 at FLA (4-3 L)
  2. Nov. 1 at NYR; Nov. 2 at TOR

  • The forward recorded his first career shorthanded assist/point vs. VAN (10/15).
  • The 25-year-old netted two goals Oct. 13 vs. NJ for his 11th career multi-goal game. Per NHL Stats, he became the second player in Flyers history to have two-or-more multi-goal games in a season opener (Bill Barber, 3x, 10/9/80, 10/9/81 & 10/7/82).
  • He ranks second in Flyers history in GWG (17), third in goals (114), fourth in scoring (280) and assists (166) and fifth in PPG (21) since entering the NHL in 2016-17.

LUCKY NUMBER 13

  • Kevin Hayes ranks T-1st on the team with four multi-point games, including three multi-point games in the last five contests.
  • The 30-year-old leads the team in assists, PPA (4) and points this season. He also ranks T-6th in the NHL in assists.
  • He collected eight points (1-7=8) in a career-high five-game season-opening point streak, Oct. 13-22.
  • He tallied his 200th career assist Oct. 19 at FLA.
  • Set a career-high three-game PPP streak (3a) from Oct. 13-18.

IVAN THE GREAT

  • Ivan Provorov owns five assists in eight games and ranks T-2nd on the team in assists, T-3rd in shots (18) and fourth in hits (18) this season.
  • The 25-year-old leads the Flyers and ranks third in the NHL with 31 blocked shots.
  • He tallied two assists, a plus-4 rating and 10 blocked shots in Philadelphia’s season opener on Oct. 13 vs. NJ.
  • His 10 blocked shots tied the franchise record for most in a game for the third time: Andrew MacDonald (3/11/16); Provorov (11/2/17 & 10/13/22).
  • The Russian native needs one more goal to tie Shayne Gostisbehere (60) for fourth place in Flyers history among defensemen.

LOCKED ON LAUGHTON

  • Scott Laughton netted his first career power-play goal and recorded a career-high 19 faceoff wins vs. FLA (10/27).
  • He owns three goals in the last seven games, including his second career shorthanded goal vs. VAN (10/15).
  • The 28-year-old ranks second on the Flyers in goals and is one of five skaters on the team that is averaging over two minutes a game for both PP TOI/GP and SH TOI/GP (also, N. Cates, DeAngelo, Farabee & Konecny)

RECAP/NOTES: The Rangers completed October and the second half of their back-to-back with a victory over the Coyotes on Sunday night. With their inaugural game at Mullett Arena, it marked the 89th unique venue the Rangers have contested at least one game in (regular season and playoffs). New York scored two goals in the second period and another on the PP in the third to grab the win.

  • The New York Rangers begin a four-game homestand and the month of November with their first meeting of the season against the Philadelphia Flyers (7:00 PM ET – TV: MSG Network – Radio: ESPN 98.7 FM).

In those 10 games, the Blueshirts had 38 power play opportunities, the third most in the NHL. SHOOTING GALLERY
New York has averaged 36.5 shots per game, the fifth most in the NHL and have record 40 or more shots in two of its last four games and four times in its first 10 games of the season. All of last year, the Blueshirts collected 40 or more shots in four contests. In the NHL, the Rangers rank first in total shots with 365.. Individually, Mika Zibanejad ranks second in the NHL with 51 shots. Timo Meier leads the league with 53.

CIRCLE GAME
The Blueshirts have been over 50 percent in the faceoff circle in seven of their 10 games this season and over 60 percent on two occasions (10/11 vs. TBL, 10/23 vs. CBJ). New York’s 53.5 faceoff percentage is the seventh-best in the NHL after finishing 24th in that category last season.

PANARIN’S POINTS
Artemi Panarin celebrated his 31st birthday on Sunday with his third game of the season with three or more points. Panarin’s 16 points (5G-11A) rank tied for third in the NHL while his 11 assists are tied for the second-most in the league. Through 10 games, Panarin’s had points in eight of them and his point total is the most through 10 games by a Ranger since Jaromir Jagr (18 in 2006-07). He is now one of just 10 different players in franchise history to record 16-plus points through the club’s first 10 contests of a season. In the past 30 years, only Jaromir Jagr (18 in 2006-07), Pavel Bure (18 in 2001-02) and Mark Messier (18 in 1992-93) have done so. Panarin’s 56 three-point contests since 2016-17 ranks third in the NHL and his 103 multi-point games since 2018-19 are tied for the fourth most in the NHL in that span.

I-GOR
Igor Shesterkin has earned a point in each of his seven starts (5-0-2) this season. With his latest win, he became the first Rangers goaltender to start the season with points in each of his first seven or more appearances of a season since Eddie Mio (5-0-2 in 1981-82).

MIKA ON A MISSION
Mika Zibanejad has six goals and six assists for 12 points. Zibanejad’s 12 points have been spread across five games this season, all five in which the Rangers have earned their victories. Five of Zibanejad’s six goals have come on the power play, tied for the most PPGs in the NHL. Zibanejad’s 12 points in the month of October were the second most he has recorded in the month over his career (13 in 2018-19).

FOX ON FIRE
Adam Fox has seven points (1G-6A) in his last seven games and nine points (2G-7A) and seven assists on the season are tied for the third-most among league defensemen. Fox has skated over 20 minutes of ice time in each of his 10 games and has led the Blueshirts in ice time in all but two games this season (Oct. 11 vs. TBL, Oct. 25 vs. COL). Fox has averaged 24:14 of TOI this season after averaging 23:54 last year. Since 2019-20, only four defensemen in the NHL have more points than Adam Fox’s 172 (26G-146A).

SPECIAL TEAMS
In 2021-22, the Rangers were one of three teams in the NHL (St. Louis, Toronto) to finish in the league’s top 10 in power play and penalty kill.

POWER PLAY
• New York had a 25.2 power play percentage (55-for-218), the fourth highest in the NHL and their third highest in team history behind the 1979-80 and 1977-78 team.

• On the road, the Rangers’ 27.8 power play percentage ranked second in the league and second in franchise history for a single season (1978-79 – 28.9).

• The Blueshirts went 53-straight games without allowing a shorthanded goal, the sixth longest (tied) span in team history (tied). The Rangers were one of three teams to not allow a single shorthanded goal at home last season.

PENALTY KILL
• The Blueshirts had a 82.3 penalty kill percentage (186-for-226), the seventh highest in the NHL. New York’s 84.8 penalty kill percentage at home ranked sixth in the NHL.
