The only previous meeting between Nashville and the Galaxy was a 1-0 home win for the Galaxy on April 23. Dejan Jovelijic came off the bench to score the game’s only goal in the 86th minute.
Nashville SC has won four straight matches for the first time in club history following a 3-0 win over Austin FC on Saturday. Nashville has scored at least three times in all four of those games after scoring three or more goals in just three of its first 26 MLS matches this season.
The Galaxy are unbeaten in a season best five straight games (W2 D3). They managed to win only two of those games despite holding the lead at some point in all five.
Hany Mukhtar scored twice in Nashville’s win on Saturday, his fourth straight game contributing to multiple goals. Mukhtar is the 12th player in MLS history to record at least two goal contributions in four straight games in a single season, something no player has managed to do in five games in a row.
Chicharito scored both of the Galaxy’s goal on Sunday, including a game-tying penalty in the 88th minute. Chicharito then missed a potential winner from the penalty spot in stoppage time, his fourth missed penalty in MLS (8 taken), more than any other player since he joined the league in 2020.
