White Sox announce five roster moves

SEATTLE – Prior to today’s series opener at Seattle, the Chicago White Sox announced the following five roster moves:

  • Returned LHP Aaron Bummer from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 60-day injured list;
  • Reinstated 3B Yoán Moncada from the 10-day injured list;
  • Optioned OFs Adam Haseley and Mark Payton to Class AAA Charlotte;
  • Outrighted RHP Tobias Myers to Charlotte.

Bummer, who appeared in three rehab games with Charlotte, was transferred to the 60-day injured list on September 2 after originally being placed on the 15-day IL on June 12 (retroactive to June 9) with a left lat strain. He is 0-1 with a 3.06 ERA (6 ER/17.2 IP), 21 strikeouts, one save and nine holds over 20 games in 2022.

Moncada was placed on the injured list on August 27 (retroactive to August 26) with a strained left hamstring. He is batting .197/.269/.313 (58-294) with seven home runs, 40 RBI and 28 runs scored over 80 games this season.

Haseley is 5-21 (.238) with two RBI in 14 games with Chicago this season.

Payton scored a run in his White Sox debut on Saturday vs. Minnesota after his contract was selected from Charlotte on Friday.

Myers, who has made five starts with the Knights, was claimed off waivers from San Francisco on August 2.

Following the moves, the Sox 40-man roster remains at 40.
