The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster moves:

Selected RHP Ryne Nelson (No. 52) from Triple-A Reno.

  • Will be making his Major League debut.
  • Rated by Baseball America as Arizona’s No. 6 prospect and No. 8 by MLB Pipeline.
  • Went 10-5 with a 5.43 ERA (82 ER in 136.0 IP) in 26 starts with the Aces in 2022…was 6-0 over his final 13 Triple-A outings.
  • At the time of his promotion, ranked among Pacific Coast League leaders in wins (1st), starts (1st), strikeouts (3rd, 128), innings (3rd), opponent average (6th, .264) and WHIP (6th, 1.39).
  • Named the D-backs’ 2021 Minor League Pitcher of the Year after going 7-4 with a 3.17 ERA in 22 starts with High-A Hillsboro and Double-A Amarillo.
  • Selected by the D-backs in the second round in the 2019 draft out of the University of Oregon.

Recalled INF Yonny Hernandez from Reno and placed him on the 60-day injured list (strained left calf).

Optioned RHP Luis Frias to Reno following yesterday’s game.

The D-backs’ 40-man roster remains at 40.
