CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. the Cleveland Guardians, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Luis Robert on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to July 19) with blurred vision, returned catcher Yasmani Grandal from an injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list.
Grandal has been on the injured list since June 13 (retroactive to June 12) with lower back spasms. He appeared in nine rehab games with Charlotte and Class AA Birmingham, going 9-25 (.360) with two home runs, five RBI, 13 walks and five runs scored. Grandal is hitting .185/.294/.237 (32-173) with three doubles, two homers 15 RBI and 27 walks in 50 games this season, his third with the White Sox.
Robert has not played since leaving in the second inning on June 15 at Minnesota with lightheadedness. He is hitting .301/.334/.461 (92-306) with 13 doubles, 12 home runs, 54 RBI, 48 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in 74 games in 2022. Robert leads the White Sox in homers, RBI and stolen bases.
