FC Cincinnati has collected one point from its three matches against Nashville, with its only home match a 6-3 defeat last October. FC Cincinnati’s club-record six-match unbeaten run ended with a 2-0 loss to the Crew on Sunday. Five of the six matches in the unbeaten run were draws as Cincinnati has now managed just one win in its last nine league games (D5 L3).
Nashville has lost two of its last three matches (W1) following a 2-1 loss to LAFC on Sunday. Nashville has not posted the same result in consecutive matches since early April, with wins over Columbus and Kansas City.
The Crew’s second goal on Sunday against Cincinnati was scored from the penalty spot, the league-high seventh penalty Cincinnati has conceded this season. Only one team since 2015 has conceded more penalties through 21 games than Cincinnati this season (Toronto – 9 in 2019).
Hany Mukhtar scored for a fifth successive game in Nashville’s defeat to LAFC on Sunday, becoming the first player in club history to do so. Mukhtar is the third player to score in five straight MLS matches this season (A. Buksa – 6, P. Arriola).
