Dodgers recall Reyes Moronta

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Reyes Moronta and placed right-handed pitcher Brusdar Graterol on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation, backdated to July 11.

Moronta, 29, returns for his fourth stint with the team and has appeared in 13 games for the Dodgers this season. In 13 games, he is 0-0 with a 3.68 ERA (6 ER/14.2 IP) and 15 strikeouts. He is in his fifth Major League season, and he is a combined 8-9 with a 2.76 ERA (45 ER/147.0 IP) and 177 strikeouts against 77 walks with San Francisco (2017-2021) and Los Angeles (2022). He was signed as a minor league free agent with the Dodgers on March 12, 2022.

Graterol, 23, heads to the injured list for the first time this season and the third time in his career. The Venezuelan right-hander has appeared in 37 games for the Dodgers, and he is 2-3 with a 3.35 ERA (15 ER/40.1 IP) and 35 strikeouts. In parts of four seasons with the Dodgers, he is combined 7-6 with a 3.80 ERA (45 ER/106.2 IP) and 85 strikeouts. He recorded his first career save on June 26 at Atlanta and he has recorded his last three save opportunities for the Dodgers. He was originally signed as an international free agent out of Calabozo, Venezuela on August 29, 2014 by the Minnesota Twins.
