Josh Winder optioned to Triple-A St. Paul
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Joe Smith from the 15-day Injured List.
Smith, who missed the Twins’ last 18 games with upper trap tightness, has appeared in 28 games this season, going 1-1 with a 2.78 ERA (22.2 IP, 7 ER), eight walks, 13 strikeouts and 14 holds.
To make room for Smith on the 26-man roster, the Twins have optioned right-handed pitcher Josh Winder to Triple-A St. Paul. Winder, who made the start last night against the Milwaukee Brewers, started twice in his most recent stint with the Twins, going 1-1 with a 6.30 ERA (10.0 IP, 7 ER), four walks and five strikeouts.
