Rangers activate RHP Matt Bush from 15-day injured list; option LHP Kolby Allard to Round Rock

Bush will be available in bullpen for Sunday’s series finale against Minnesota

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has activated right-handed pitcher Matt Bush from the 15-day Injured List and optioned left-handed pitcher Kolby Allard to Triple-A Round Rock.

Bush was on the 15-day Injured List from June 25-July 9 with right forearm soreness, as he spent the minimum number of days on the Injured List. He threw a live batting practice session at Globe Life Field on Friday. Bush was scratched from a start in a scheduled bullpen game on June 25 vs. Washington and placed on the Injured List the following day. He has gone 2-1 with a 4.05 ERA in 30 games/3 starts for Texas this season, and his last outing came on June 24 vs. Washington.

Allard did not pitch for Texas after being recalled on Wednesday. He has gone 0-2 with a 5.06 ERA (9 ER/16.0 IP) and one save in 7 relief outings over four stints with the Rangers in 2022: Opening Day-April 30, May 11, June 3-15, and July 6-9. The left-hander has spent the balance of the season at Triple-A, going 1-1 with a 4.21 ERA (12 ER/25.2 IP) and 11 walks/33 strikeouts in 7 games/starts.

Following today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the Major League roster, along with two players (Jonathan Hernández and Eli White) on the 60-day Injured List.
