MLS Preview: D.C. United (4-9-2) at Orlando City SC (7-6-4)

Orlando City won both matches against D.C. United last season, including a 2-1 home win in October. There has been only one draw in the 13 all-time league meetings between the sides, with each team recording six wins against the other.

Orlando City won its last home match, a 2-1 victory over Houston on June 18. The Lions haven’t put together consecutive home wins since last July, following their previous seven wins with a draw three times and a loss four.

D.C. United has lost nine of its last 13 games (W2 D2), including the last three in a row. After winning its first two games of the season, D.C. has just eight points since mid-March, four fewer than any other team in that time.

Ercan Kara has scored four of Orlando City’s last six goals, including each of the last three at home. Mauricio Pereyra has provided an assist on all three of those goals.

Taxi Fountas scored his sixth goal of the season in D.C. United’s loss to Nashville on Saturday, matching Ola Kamara for team-high honors. Fountas has a team-high nine goal contributions this season, but only two of those have come on the road (1 goal, 1 assist at Inter Miami on May 14).
