OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Athletics reinstated outfielder Stephen Piscotty from the 10-day injured list and placed infielder Jonah Bride on the 10-day IL retroactive to June 27 with a strained right shoulder, the club announced today.
Piscotty was batting .225 with a home run and three RBI in 14 games when he was placed on the IL May 8 retroactive to May 7 with a strained left calf. He began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas on June 21 and went 8-for-21 (.381) with a double, RBI and walk in five games against Albuquerque. Piscotty started three games in right field and two at designated hitter with the Aviators.
Bride was recalled from Las Vegas on June 14 and hit .220 with a double, RBI and three walks in 12 games in his Major League debut. He hit .333 over his first seven games but was 1-for-17 over his final five contests before he was injured in a collision with Chad Pinder on Sunday at Kansas City.
