OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland Athletics recalled right-handed pitcher Adam Oller from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned left-handed pitcher Sam Selman to Las Vegas, the club announced today.
Oller joins the A’s for the third time this year and is 0-3 with a 12.27 ERA in four starts with Oakland in his Major League debut. He was on the A’s Opening Day roster and went 0-2 with an 11.17 ERA in three starts before he was optioned to Las Vegas May 1. The 27-year-old right-hander returned as the 27th man for the May 14 doubleheader against Los Angeles (AL) and lost the night game, allowing eight runs on six hits in 5.0 innings. Oller is 3-0 with a 3.91 ERA and .239 opponents batting average in five starts with Las Vegas. He has struck out 23 in 23.0 innings but has also walked 15.
Selman was selected from Las Vegas on May 29 for his second stint with the A’s this year. He had not allowed a run in five appearances and 6.1 innings overall with Oakland before allowing four runs on four hits in 0.2 innings last night at Atlanta. Selman has a 5.14 ERA in six games with the A’s and a 1.98 ERA and three saves in 11 relief appearances with Las Vegas.
