LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers activated infielder Max Muncy from the injured list and optioned infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Muncy, 31, returns from the injured list after missing 11 games with left elbow inflammation. In four rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, he batted .143 (2-for-14) with a homer and two RBI, including a walk-off homer on Tuesday night. On the campaign, the Texas native is hitting .150 (20-for-133) with three homers and 14 RBI in 41 games this season for the Dodgers. In his Major League career, he carries a .839 OPS with a slashline of .234/.359/.480 with 126 homers and 329 RBI in 617 games. He was originally drafted by the Oakland Athletics in fifth round of the 2012 First Year Player Draft out of Baylor University.
McKinstry, 27, clubbed a two-run homer in his fourth stint with the team and in four games with the Dodgers, he is batting .200 (1-for-5) with a homer and two RBI. With Triple-A Oklahoma City, he batted .338 (51-for-151) with five doubles, two homers and 19 RBI in 38 games. In three Major League seasons with the Dodgers, he has hit a combined .218 with 10 doubles, eight homers and 31 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in 33rd round of the 2016 First Year Player Draft out of Central Michigan University.
