BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves:
- Reinstated left-handed pitcher Matt Strahm from the COVID-19 Related Injured List.
- Placed right-handed pitcher Matt Barnes on the 15-day Injured List due to right shoulder inflammation, retroactive to May 31.
Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.
Strahm, 30, was placed on the COVID-19 Related Injured List prior to Monday’s game against Baltimore. The left-hander has posted a 3.68 ERA (6 ER/14.2 IP) in 18 relief appearances for Boston this season.
Barnes, 31, last appeared on Monday against Baltimore, allowing three runs in the ninth inning. The right-hander has made 20 appearances for Boston this season, posting a 7.94 ERA (15 ER/17.0 IP) and is tied for the team lead with two saves.
