The home team has won six of the seven all-time MLS meetings between Colorado and Los Angeles FC, including a 3-0 home win for LAFC in the season opener. LAFC has recorded the only road win in the series, a 3-0 victory at Colorado in 2018, but the Rapids have won the two meetings in Commerce City since.
The Rapids are unbeaten in their last 21 regular season home matches (W12 D9), a club record that dates back over a year. Colorado can equal the fifth longest regular season home unbeaten run in league history with a win or draw (Portland 2013-14, Columbus 2008-09).
Los Angeles FC came from behind twice on Saturday to draw with the Union, 2-2, at home. Eleven of LAFC’s 23 points this season have come in matches in which they trailed at some point, three more than any other team in the league in 2022.
The Rapids have been the best team in the air in MLS this season, winning 59.2 percent of their aerial duels. All four Rapids players that have been involved in at least 20 aerial duels this season have won more than half, led by Lalas Abubakar (29/41 – 70.7%).
Carlos Vela has scored six times in seven matches against Colorado in his MLS career, having only found the net more against the Galaxy (8). All six goals came in a pair of hat tricks at Banc of California Stadium, including in the meeting in February, as he’s never scored in three games at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
