ATS Wins

NHL Morning Skate – Jan. 29, 2022

* The Avalanche became one of four teams in NHL history to earn 14 wins in a calendar month in an effort led by Nazem Kadri, who moved within one point of Jonathan Huberdeau and Leon Draisaitl in the Art Ross Trophy race.* Mats Zuccarello and Kevin Fiala each extended their point streaks to 10 games to help the Wild earn their NHL-leading fifth multi-goal comeback win of the season.

* Canada’s biggest single-day hockey broadcast featuring all seven Canadian teams in action returns Saturday when Ron MacLean hosts Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada from Scarborough, Ont. This year’s broadcast will honor the trailblazers, activists and advocacy groups that are striving to create an inclusive and diverse sport for future generations.

KADRI, COLORADO CONTINUE HOT STREAK WITH WIN FRIDAY
Nazem Kadri (1-2—3) factored on three of his team’s six goals as the Avalanche (31-8-3, 65 points) extended their win streak to nine games – the third-longest run in franchise history – and overtook the idle Panthers (30-9-5, 65 points) for first place in the NHL standings.

* Colorado is 14-0-1 in its last 15 contests and is now one shy of the franchise record for longest point streak, a mark set in 2000-01. The Avalanche have gone 15 games without a regulation loss for the second time in as many seasons.

* Kadri, who registered his eighth three-point outing of the season, boosted his 2021-22 totals to 17-41—58 (39 GP), trailing only Jonathan Huberdeau (16-43—59 in 44 GP) and Leon Draisaitl (29-30—59 in 39 GP) for the most points in the NHL. Kadri required the fourth-fewest games in Avalanche/Nordiques history to reach the 40-assist mark, behind Peter Forsberg (31 GP in 1995-96), Mikko Rantanen (32 GP in 2018-19) and Peter Stastny (36 GP in 1983-84 & 1981-82).

ZUCCARELLO, FIALA AID WILD TO YET ANOTHER MULTI-GOAL COMEBACK WIN
Mats Zuccarello
(1-1—2) and Kevin Fiala (1-0—1) scored two straight second-period goals for the Wild to tie the game and help Minnesota secure its fifth multi-goal comeback win of the season – tops among all teams. The Wild have recorded more in a single campaign just once in franchise history, with six in 2006-07.

* The Wild (26-10-3, 55 points), who currently hold the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, moved within two points of the idle Blues (26-12-5, 57 points) for third in the Central Division while holding four games in hand.

* Zuccarello has recorded multiple points in six consecutive games (4-9—13), establishing a Wild franchise record. He became the second player this season to do so, joining Connor McDavid (6 GP).

ZUBOV, LUNDQVIST CELEBRATE THEIR JERSEYS BEING RAISED TO THE RAFTERS
Past and present came together in Dallas and at Madison Square Garden in New York to celebrate two franchise legends, as Sergei Zubov and Henrik Lundqvist each watched as their jerseys were raised to the rafters. No. 56 and No. 30 are now officially retired by the Stars and Rangers, respectively.

* Zubov’s illustrious career – whose goals (111), assists (438) and points (549) still stands as the Stars/North Stars franchise lead among defensemen – is also highlighted by his 2019 Hockey Hall of Fame induction. Zubov (Moscow, Russia) holds the most assists (619) by a Russian-born blueliner, while his career goals (152) and points (771) sit second behind Sergei Gonchar (220-591—811 in 1,301 GP).

* Lundqvist backstopped his way to lead the Original-Six Rangers in wins (459) and shutouts (64) – numbers which also lead all Swedish-born goaltenders in both categories. Since he made his NHL debut in 2005-06, only Marc-Andre Fleury (502-276-83, 69 SO) has more wins and shutouts.
