Kings’ Lemieux Suspended Five Games for Biting

NEW YORK – Los Angeles Kings forward Brendan Lemieux has been suspended for five games, without pay, for biting Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk during NHL Game No. 325 in Los Angeles on Saturday, Nov. 27, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 13:51 of the third period. Lemieux was assessed a match penalty.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Lemieux will forfeit $38,750.00. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
