CALEB JONES MAKES TEAM DEBUT AS BROTHER SETH EXTENDS POINT STREAK
The Blackhawks quelled the Kraken’s third-period comeback attempt in their first-ever head-to-head meeting, with Caleb Jones making his team debut for the visitors and his brother Seth opening the scoring to extend his point streak to a career-high seven games (2-5—7).

MAKAR SCORES GAME-WINNING GOAL AS AVALANCHE DEFEAT CANUCKS
Cale Makar (1-1—2) was one of four Colorado skaters with multiple points in Wednesday‘s win, joining Nazem Kadri (1-2—3), Mikko Rantanen (1-2—3) and Gabriel Landeskog (1-1—2). Makar now has 1-7—8 in three career head-to-head games against Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes (2.67 P/GP), with the Avalanche improving to 3-0-0 in those contests.

A total of 22 teams are set to take to the ice Thursday, including the Flyers and Ducks who host their Hockey Fights Cancer night at Wells Fargo Center and Honda Center, respectively.

RANGERSMAPLE LEAFS GO HEAD-TO-HEAD AT SCOTIABANK ARENA
The Rangers (10-3-3, 23 points) visit the Maple Leafs (11-5-1, 23 points) Thursday, with each team entering the contest riding a four-game win streak:

* New York, which has won each of its last three meetings with Toronto dating to Dec. 28, 2019 (TOR: 0-1-2), will aim to post a five-game win streak for the first time since 2019-20 (5-0-0 from Feb. 19-27, 2020). Adam Fox (4-12—16 in 16 GP) has tallied 2-2—4 over the Rangers’ last four outings and currently sits tied for the NHL lead in scoring among defensemen with Predators captain Roman Josi (6-10—16 in 16 GP).

* Toronto has won nine of its last 10 contests after starting the season with just three wins through seven games, which has allowed the club to move from sixth place in the Atlantic Division entering play Oct. 27 to second behind Florida (11-2-3, 25 points). Mitchell Marner leads the Maple Leafs with 4-10—14 (10 GP) since Oct. 27, trailing only Oilers teammates Leon Draisaitl (13-9—22 in 10 GP) and Connor McDavid (4-12—16 in 10 GP) for the most in the NHL over that span.

LONGTIME WILD DEFENSEMAN SUTER RETURNS TO MINNESOTA
Stars defenseman Ryan Suter will make his return to Minnesota for the first time since signing with Dallas on July 28. Suter (55-314—369 in 656 GP), who spent the last nine seasons with the Wild, is the franchise’s all-time leader in assists and points by a defenseman.
