Yankees complete single transaction to their roster

Earlier today, the Yankees claimed RHP Colby White off waivers from the Tampa Bay Rays and assigned him to Double-A Somerset.

White, 25, has gone 0-2 with a 17.61 ERA (7.2IP, 10H, 17R/15ER, 10BB, 10K, 3HR) in nine games (one start) with Triple-A Durham this season. He was designated for assignment by Tampa Bay on May 3, 2024.

In 24 combined games (five starts) in 2023 with the FCL Rays, High-A Bowling Green and Double-A Montgomery, went 1-0 with a 1.64 ERA (22.0IP, 11H, 4ER, 17BB, 24K, 0HR).

Over parts of four minor league seasons (2019, ’21, ’23-24) in the Rays organization, has gone 6-5 with a 2.83 ERA (111.1IP, 55H, 43R/35ER, 58BB, 167K, 10HR) in 91 career games (seven starts). The Hattiesburg, Miss., native was originally drafted by the Rays in the sixth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of Mississippi State University.
