Patterson (6-0, 212; Michigan; born January 17, 1997, in Toledo, OH) joins the Blue Bombers after spending the past three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2023-24) and the Montreal Alouettes (2021).

Last year, Patterson suited up for all 18 regular-season games and both the Western Semi-Final and Western Final for the Roughriders. He completed 131 of 217 passes (60.4 percent) for 1,655 yards and six touchdowns, while throwing five interceptions. Additionally, he rushed 38 times for 134 yards and led the team with seven rushing touchdowns.

The Roughriders went 2-4 in Patterson’s six starts last season, stepping in for Trevor Harris. This includes a 19-9 victory over the Blue Bombers in Regina last July, a game in which Patterson threw for 261 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 35 yards.

Patterson began his professional career with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 as an undrafted free agent. After a stint in The Spring League, he spent time on the B.C. Lions practice roster in 2021 before signing with the Montreal Alouettes later that year.

In 2022, Patterson was the first overall pick in the USFL Draft by the Michigan Panthers and was later signed by the New Orleans Breakers. He joined the Roughriders in February of 2023.

During his college career, Patterson played for both Ole Miss (2016-17) and Michigan (2018-19). He earned All-Big Ten Third Team honors in both seasons with the Wolverines and surpassed Tom Brady to rank seventh on the school’s all-time passing-yardage list.

Patterson was also selected by the Texas Rangers in the 39th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball Draft.
