White Sox reinstate Lance Lynn from injured list; option Jimmy Lambert to Class AAA Charlotte

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have reinstated right-handed pitcher Lance Lynn from the 10-day injured list and optioned right-hander Jimmy Lambert to Class AAA Charlotte.

 

Lynn, 34, is scheduled to start Sunday’s series finale vs. Boston. He was placed on the injured list on August 31 (retroactive to August 29) with right knee inflammation. Lynn is 10-4 with a 2.59 ERA (39 ER/135.2 IP) and 152 strikeouts over 24 starts this season, his first with the White Sox. He ranks among the American League leaders (minimum 135.0 IP) in ERA (1st), opponents average (2nd, .204), opponents slugging percentage (2nd, .338), opponents OPS (2nd, .605), WHIP (4th, 1.08) and strikeouts per 9.0 IP (8th, 10.08).

 

Lambert, 26, is 1-1 with a 6.23 ERA (9 ER/13.0 IP) and 10 strikeouts in four appearances (three starts) with the White Sox this season. He earned his first major-league win on Tuesday night at Oakland after allowing one run in 5.0 IP.
