The Virginia Lottery on Friday released its monthly report detailing sports wagering activity for June 2026, showing that bettors in the Commonwealth placed $589.2 million in wagers during the 30‑day period. The figures reflect submissions from all licensed operators active in the state.

According to the Lottery, eleven mobile sportsbooks and three retail casinos were authorized to accept wagers in June. A full list of approved operators is available on the Lottery’s website under the “approvals” tab.

Bettors won $529.3 million, resulting in a 10.17% win percentage for operators — a metric commonly referred to as “hold,” representing the share of wagers retained after payouts.

Under Virginia law, sports betting is taxed at 15% of adjusted gross revenue, defined as total wagers minus total winnings and allowable deductions. The statute directs 97.5% of tax revenue to the state’s General Fund, while 2.5% is earmarked for the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund, administered by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services.

The June report continues the Lottery’s monthly disclosure of sports wagering activity, a requirement established under Virginia’s sports betting legislation to ensure transparency in the rapidly expanding market.
