RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia’s five operating casinos generated over $92 million in gaming revenue in June 2026, according to a monthly activity report released by the Virginia Lottery.

The state’s casino sector includes Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol, Rivers Casino Portsmouth, Caesars Virginia, The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk, and Live! Casino & Hotel Virginia.

Under Virginia law, casinos pay a graduated tax on adjusted gross revenue (AGR), defined as total wagers minus winnings. In June, operators contributed $16.6 million in AGR taxes to the state’s Gaming Proceeds Fund.

State statute directs portions of casino tax revenue to several designated funds, including the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund, the Family and Children’s Trust Fund, the Virginia Indigenous People’s Trust Fund, and the host cities where casinos operate. For Bristol, the host‑city allocation is routed to the Regional Improvement Commission (RIC). Norfolk’s casino operates in partnership with the Pamunkey Indian Tribe, which also receives distributions as outlined in state law.

The Virginia Lottery publishes casino gaming activity reports monthly as part of its regulatory oversight of the state’s expanding gaming industry.
