The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that two Minor League players have been suspended following violations of their respective Drug Prevention and Treatment Programs.

Houston Astros Minor League catcher Emilio Gonzalez, who is currently on the roster of the Dominican Summer League Astros, has received a 56-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Boldenone, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Drug Prevention and Treatment Program for Minor League Players Assigned Outside of the United States and Canada.

St. Louis Cardinals Minor League pitcher Zeke Wood, who is currently on the roster of the High-A Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League, has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for GW1516, a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the Joint Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.

The suspension of Wood is effective immediately. The suspension of Gonzalez will resume at the start of the 2026 DSL season.
