Caleb Boushley optioned to Triple-A St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Jorge Alcala from Triple-A St. Paul.

Alcala recently made three appearances for the Saints from April 17-30, allowing two runs on three hits in 4.0 innings pitched, with three walks and five strikeouts. He last appeared for the Saints on Tuesday vs. Louisville, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning, while throwing 18 pitches. Prior to being optioned from Minnesota on April 14, Alcala made six scoreless appearances for the Twins, going 1-0 with three hits allowed, three walks and nine strikeouts in 8.1 innings pitched.

Alcala will take the vacated 26-man roster spot left by right-handed pitcher Caleb Boushley, who was optioned to St. Paul yesterday. Boushley, who had his contract selected by Minnesota on Wednesday, did not appear in a game for the Twins.
