The Toronto Blue Jays have selected RHP Tommy Nance to the Major League roster and he will be active for tonight’s game.

Additionally, LHP Génesis Cabrera has been placed on the paternity list.

Nance, 33, was acquired from the San Diego Padres in exchange for cash considerations on August 7th. In 26 appearances for the Padres Triple-A affiliate in El Paso this season, Nance has gone 2-2 while posting a 4.05 ERA (15 ER/33.1 IP), a 5.3% walk rate, and a 23.3% strikeout rate. The Long Beach, CA, native was signed by the Chicago Cubs as an undrafted free agent in 2016, eventually making his MLB debut for the club in 2021. The 6-6, 235 lb. right-hander has appeared in 62 career MLB games (two starts) between the Cubs and Marlins, recording a 5.47 ERA (44 ER/72.1 IP) with 34 walks, 87 strikeouts, and a 1.44 WHIP.
