The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed RHP Luis Frías off waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Frías has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo.

Frías, 26, has appeared in seven games for the Diamondbacks this season, while spending a majority of the campaign with Arizona’s Triple-A squad in Reno, posting a 4.68 ERA over 22 minor league contests. The 6-3, 245 lb. right-handed reliever was signed by the Diamondbacks as an international free agent in 2015, eventually making his Major League debut for the club in 2021. The 26-year-old from Rio San Juan, D.R., has posted a 6.55 ERA over 54 career MLB games and a 3.82 mark over 142 minor league appearances (67 starts).
